There is a practical way for everyone to help bring the light of Christ into Clemens prison. Including you. Or perhaps especially YOU!
Below is a list of the things that need to be done virtually on a year round basis to prepare for the two Kairos-Clemens Weekends for which our support team of volunteers trains and prepares diligently.
For specific details and guidelines regarding each of these important contribution categories, simply contact our Outreach Coordinator by email at brooksrandy70@gmail.com.
JOIN A TEAM FOR A KAIROS WEEKEND: It’s a real commitment of time and energy, of course, but everyone who has taken the plunge has come away having contributed and received a blessing quite unlike any other. Scroll down to view more info about joining our team and for additional information you can always contact our Outreach Coordinator directly at brooksrandy70@gmail.com!
PRAYER: Your prayers are essential to the success of Kairos-Clemens Weekends. Prayer is the one ingredient that ensures hearts will be open to His Word and for His will to be accomplished.
COOKIES: Homemade cookies by the thousands! It’s a Kairos brand that expresses God’s grace to Kairos-Clemens Weekend participants, guards, and administrative staff. (Cookie Bake scheduled at First Baptist Church – Lake Jackson on April 9, 2026. If you are able to help, please call Dennis Leveron at 979-235-0487)
PLACEMATS: At each meal individually created place mats are provided as yet another outreach message of God’s love. A great activity for Sunday schools, preschools, children and grandchildren!
POSTERS: These messages of love from the Body of Christ are designed to express the very tangible hope found in Jesus. A scripture, a greeting, or simply a hand print – all are most welcome!
ATTEND A CLOSING: Come to a Kairos Weekend Closing as a guest and see for yourself how the testimonies of hearts changed by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit can touch your heart!
INVITE US TO VISIT YOUR CHURCH: We would love to tell the Kairos-Clemens story directly to your church.
DONATIONS: Certainly no one will be surprised to discover that a Kairos-Clemens Weekend requires donations. We make every penny count – and accountable! – but your individual and corporate financial help is crucial.

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A KAIROS-CLEMENS INSIDE MINISTRY VOLUNTEER:

2. A structured approach to ministry and teaching.
3. Commitment to training meetings and challenging assignments.
4. Many small hands-on group discussions.
5. Labor with love and firsthand witnessing of God’s love encountered by the participants.

WHY CAN ONLY MEN SERVE AS A KAIROS INSIDE VOLUNTEER?
It is a Kairos rule that inside teams match the gender of the prison being served. For those who work on the outside team, participation by all is gratefully accepted.
IS HAVING DONE A 3-DAY WEEKEND A PREREQUISITE TO WORKING ON AN INSIDE TEAM?
The short answer is no. However having been on a 3-day Christian weekend, KAIROS or similar to Kairos such as Walk to Emmus, Tres Dias, Chrysalis, or Cursillo will better enable the Kairos volunteer to understand and appreciate the experience which the prison residents will experience.
ISN’T BEING IN A PRISON DANGEROUS?
The training provided by TDCJ will equip you with a number of do’s and don’ts to help ensure your prison ministry experience is a positive one. Furthermore during the course of a weekend, you will always be accompanied by other volunteers all while under the close scrutiny of security officer.
